Empowering Rural Mothers with Voice Technology
Sauti Mama is a maternal health information platform that uses voice technology (IVR and WhatsApp voice notes) to reach underserved mothers in rural Uganda.
With low smartphone and literacy rates in districts like Moroto and Kitgum, we are bridging the gap by delivering trusted, localized, and timely health content in native languages.
At Sauti Mama, we believe every mother deserves compassionate care and information, regardless of marital status. We are committed to supporting women who are pregnant outside of wedlock, ensuring they have access to trusted maternal health resources without stigma or exclusion.
We also recognize the crucial role of men and partners as supporters in the maternal health journey. Our platform encourages their active involvement, fostering a supportive environment for families and communities.
We partner with health professionals and local leaders to create culturally appropriate audio content on topics like antenatal care, delivery support, and postpartum health.
Our hybrid model combines both inbound & outbound IVR calls with WhatsApp voice integration, making health messages accessible regardless of literacy or phone type.
Our pilot will launch in Moroto and Kitgum, districts with some of the lowest maternal health indicators in Uganda.
This 3-month pilot aims to reach at least 1,000 rural mothers, using a blend of mobile outreach and village health team coordination.
